Alon Eisenstein

Alon joined the Impact Centre in 2014 as the Academic Program Assistant. He assists with the delivery and expansion of the Impact Centre’s academic programs, including the IMC200 – Innovation ad Entrepreneurship and the IMC390 – Internship in New Ventures. As the internship coordinator for the IMC390 course, he oversees the application and hiring process of the interns by start-up companies, as well as maintains regular contact with both interns and employers to assure a positive and productive learning experience for the interns as well as valuable contribution by the interns to the employers. Alon co-initiated the creation and delivery of a new workshop series, Informed, where students receive first hand account from professionals, sharing their experience and laying down the skills students need to acquire in order for them to pursue their profession.

Alon obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry, both with honors, at the Ben Gurion University in Israel. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, specializing in Physical Chemistry, studying and characterizing the properties of nano-scale materials.

Passionate about teaching, Alon is the Educational Programs Coordinator for Pueblo Science, a non-profit working to advance STEM education in under-resourced communities in Canada and in the developing world. As part of his role, he has initiated and directed the organization’s week-long science-camp, as well as other large public events which aim to engage the general public with science education.
