Impact Centre

Impact Centre generates impact through industry projects and partnerships, entrepreneurial companies, and training.

Impact Centre bridges the gap between the university and industry to accelerate the development of new or improved products and services, works with graduate students and researchers to help them commercialize their discoveries, and provides supplemental training for students at all levels to ease their transition into future careers.

Prof. M. Cynthia Goh

M. Cynthia received her PhD from the University of California at Los Angeles, and carried out postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley. She is now professor at the Department of Chemistry, the Institute of Medical Science, the Munk School of Global Affairs and Director of the Impact Centre at the University of Toronto.

Emanuel

Emanuel Istrate

Emanuel received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2005. He is an active senior member of the IEEE, where he currently serves as the chair of the IEEE Toronto Section.

Alon Eisenstein

Alon Eisenstein

Alon obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry, both with honors, at the Ben Gurion University in Israel. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, specializing in Physical Chemistry, studying and characterizing the properties of nano-scale materials.

Neta RAZ

Neta has completed Master's of Science in Chemistry at University of Toronto studying the flow of micro-sphere gels in micro-channels. She also completed a M.Sc. at the Ben Gurion University. She is currently working at the Impact Centre co-authoring a book about scientific research and applied skills used by university students.

Edward Chao

Edward received his B.Sc. in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. After graduation, he started his chemical trading business in Hong Kong and extended his entrepreneurship to Canada.  Besides running his business, Edward is committed to giving back to society as a Scout Leader. From his experience in youth programs, Edward sees EDGE as not just an academic program for youths but an experiential journey with guidance, support, and empowerment that he hopes will positively impact them for years to come.

Frankie Chan

Frankie Chan

After obtaining his Honours BSc in Computer Science at University of Ottawa, Frankie Chan pursued his career at various listed companies and government departments including CGI Consulting, Laurentian Finance, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Economic of Trade and Development, Hospital Authority of Hong Kong. Currently he is the founder of a computer company specialized in web based system development.
